Au Lait Cheese Shop in Yokohama conducted a sales promotion for California Colby Jack March 13th to 15th. Aulait sold a 500g assorted cheese block set, including Colby Jack, Colby Jack Cheese pizza, and oiled Colby Jack & Smoked Cheddar with dried tomatoes, ham, and olive for this promotion. They promoted the cheese taste with customers, helping increase sales.
The California Wine Institute and CMAB conducted a Happy Hour Promotion at the Tokyo American Club, March 13 th to 26 th . Head Chef Lindsay Gray made a special California Cheese Plate, paired with sparkling, white, and red California Wines. The cheese plate included Point Reyes Original Blue & Toma, Fiscalini Smoked Cheddar, and Sierra Nevada Smokehouse. We visited TAC during the promotion. TAC would like to conduct another promotion. Chef Gray wants to use California cheeses on the regular menu. We’ve asked FRM & Nagano Trading to quote prices to TAC.
A CA Grown trade mission visited Japan the week of March 13 th . The itinerary included a US Embassy Ambassador Resident Event, a Media Event at Edition Hotel, and Reception Party at Okura Hotel. We contributed specialty cheeses for the events given the substantial opportunity to expand the message for California Cheeses.
COTTA, a popular bakery and confectionary online store, will create a special promotion page for California Specialty Cheeses. The promotion timeline is targeted to start mid-April. Burrata Cheese from Di Stefano, Toma from Point Reyes, Smoked Cheddar from Fiscalini, and Habanero Cheddar from Sierra Nevada have been selected for the promotion. We created four new recipes and will post to the website recipe page later. We will announce the promotion via SNS once the page launched. Selling specialty cheeses via the online store is a new challenge, so paid advertising is planned to boost the promotion.
