With the strong performance of Sam’s Club store s, Wal-Mart Group achieved the first place in the Top 100 Retailer Ranking in China in 2021. Sam’s Club is continuing its pace of opening new stores in China. On July 28, 2022, China government published the updated regulation on cheese. This finalizes the definition of processed cheese and cheese-related product. Processed cheese will need to have a percentage of higher than 50% of natural cheese. For those below 50%, it can also be called cheese-related product. And the percentage needs to be marked clearly on the package together with the name of “Processed Cheese” or “Cheese - related Product”. The new regulation is to help educate Chinese consumers on cheese consumption. French cheese producer Bel Group acquired Shandong Junjun Dairy Company for the localization in China. Part of its Kiri and The Laughing Cow brand products will probably shift production into China. Jujin Businss: 1) Finalize the package design for the 8oz, 3lbs and 30lbs cream cheese from California, highlighting the RCM seal. 2) The buyer has a solid sales network in retail and E-commerce, interested in launching specialty cheese program together as they are now handling air-shipment of items like blue cheese, brie and etc. TFMJ: 1) Having set up a flagship store on JD.com for continued sales of Cal dairy products. 2) Look for diced cheddar cheese for cheese sausage production, about 1 40ft container every month, having connected with Pacific Cheese. 3) Look to add 8oz cheese shreds including Mozzarella, 4-cheese blend, cheddar and etc. to be launched in its JD.com store. 4) Look to add 5lbs cheese shreds and loaves for foodservice distribution. 5) Look to carry cheese snack pack and freeze-dried cheese like cheese crisps for retail distribution (Sonoma Creamery?) Bestion: 1) Work with Pacific Cheese for the 8oz cheese shred product launch, as private label takes a few more weeks, will launch the California Select Farm brand first in Hema Fresh and other gourmet stores. Launch the private label item later. 2) Develop new retail channel for 8oz cream cheese including Ole, Hema and etc., confirm half year order plan with Savencia. 3) Invest in a yogurt plant on Hainan island, would like to use raw milk from California for production. Hengyi: Place the formal order of first container of ice cream from Crystal Creamery and Coolhaus. Look to add other SKUs from Rethink and SSI. Plan to grow to about 4 – 5 containers next year.
