Attracting New Workforce
2025 Internships & Student Placement CDIC is actively involved with several California processors seeking to hire interns from partner academic institutions, arranging meetings with faculty, food science clubs and individual faculty. CDIC staff serves in a networking capacity, receiving resumes of suitable candidates, and helping California processors identify students who match their needs
Strengthening Academic Institutions and Networking
CDIC is working with CalPoly Pomona towards the development of the University’s first Dairy Production, Processing and Marketing class (to be offered in 2026, with a 2025 accelerated short course scheduled August 21-22, and consultations with industry December 5).
CDIC exhibited at Southern California’s IFT Suppliers night, which brings close to 1,000 food industry professionals, students and academia. Staff networked and shared information on CDIC’s programs.
Staff attended the California Dairy Sustainability Summit, Visalia. Meetings were held with the Dairy Institute of California and industry suppliers.
