Unfortunately, due to production delays their orders were late by as much as 2-3 months to Albertsons warehouses which significantly impacted retail operations and sales. The factors that contributed to the order delays included procuring yogurt, milk, packaging, as well as a new sales broker in charge of communications with buyers. The product ultimately made it out to a small percentage of the stores and the national category team decided to discontinue the product nationally, 4 months into the launch. CMAB will continue to work with Sweet Kiwi to provide retail commercialization guidance to avoid situations like this from repeating. This was a missed opportunity to expand across the U.S. using Real California Milk.

Retail Collaborations:

Grocery Outlet will be adding the RCM Seal on their new line of Simply Go (private label) ice creams. There will be 5 flavors in 1.5Qt size, and 3 flavors in the larger Gallon size. The 8 new items will roll out in late August/Sept and is expected to sell about 2M units per year. CMAB is working with the Grocery Outlet buyers to set up marketing support, including sampling at their stores. The ice cream formulations is a premium higher fat, low overrun product, which will set them apart from other retailers with a lower fat, high overrun program.
