Dairy Performance Report
2025 YTD Dairy Performance Report - Week Ending 03/30/25 The dairy category kept its momentum going into the first quarter of 2025, with total sales climbing to $28.54 billion, up 5.2% compared to the same time last year. What really stands out, though, is that this growth wasn’t just about higher prices. Unlike previous years where inflation played a bigger role, YTD volume sales are up 1.6%, showing that demand for dairy is growing as more consumers reach for these products. Several categories show exceptional performance this quarter. Yogurt led the way with an impressive 14.0% increase in dollar sales and a 10.5% jump in volume, as consumers continue to gravitate toward convenient, functional, and protein-rich options. Cottage cheese continues to maintain its momentum, with another standout quarter. It posted a 24.2% surge in dollar sales, the highest of any category.
