CHINA • ESL milk sales remain stable on e-commerce platforms with Moogo looking to add an additional container of chocolate milk a month. • Papa Johns in China, which has exclusively used Mozzarella shreds and string cheese from California for a decade, opened its 300th restaurant in the country and plans to open another 200 in the next three years.
CMAB International Markets include Mexico, Chile, China, Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. In-market CMAB representatives worked closely with retail and foodservice contacts as well as key importers, distributors, and processors to build Real California Milk seal awareness and grow distribution for California dairy products with the seal, including:

• Conducted in-store frozen yogurt showcase and tasting in 43 Sam’s Club stores in China and successfully launched frozen yogurt into Costco China stores. • Continued to expand culinary training programs with demo classes presented to professors and student chefs at Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism and Business and SSLIS Institute.
• Building awareness for California dairy by continuing to grow social channels and in-language RCM website traffic. • Hosting reverse trade missions, including a mission for representatives from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. • Presenting the first Pizza Expo International Pizza Competition at Pizza Expo with 12 participants from China, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. • Producing culinary events with Chef Barbara Alexander in South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore. • Continuing to expand reach for California dairy, including Chile and the Middle East. • Conducting retail road shows - China – Sam’s: 4 stores - Japan – Costco: Pizza Promotion - Mexico – HEB: 3 stores
SOUTH KOREA • Worked with Burger King to launch their Originals Pepper Jack burger featuring California Pepper Jack cheese. Burger King received a positive response from South Korean customers and good sales, resulting in interest in developing new menus with CA cheese. • Conducted a retail promotion with Myungrang hot dogs at Costco Korea for a new Mozzarella hot dog product. Costco has 660 branches nationwide. • Worked with Coupang, the largest online marketplace in South Korea, to conduct online promotions during June, November and December to promote a variety of products. JAPAN
• CMAB participated in the 30th Cheese Festa with U.S. Dairy Exp ort Council Japan, a two-day public event where Italian Chef Hidaka of Aqua Pazza led a California Cheese Seminar and cooking demonstrations with a variety of California cheeses. • Conducted California Pizza Promotion at 31 Costco outlets in December.
• Coordinated promotional sales events at a variety of foodservice outlets including Au Lait Cheese Shop in Yokohama, Tokyo American Club (in cooperation with the California Wine Institute) and COTTA, a popular online bakery and confectionary store.
