AREAS OF FOCUS Five areas of focus were identified as priority areas where CDRF involvement over the next 5-year period could most benefit the industry. Those five areas plus key implementation priorities are presented below.

• CONTINUE to focus on industry sustainability with emphasis on environmental management • CONTINUE to prioritize project issues that are unique to California dairy • CONTINUE to favor shorter-term studies with results that directly apply to dairy producers • CONTINUE to co-invest and collaborate wherever possible to leverage check-off dollars

• MORE emphasis on costs, pricing, and profitability in project deliverables • MORE emphasis on projects that address multiple areas of focus and provide multiple benefits • MORE emphasis on communicating project outcomes and their value to stakeholders
