2024 - 2028 CDRF Strategic Plan

SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS As part of the strategic planning process, CDRF undertook an extensive California dairy situation assessment to update industry projections and threats. Input from a diverse range of dairy industry stakeholders as well as a thorough review of relevant California dairy industry forecasting and planning documents informed the assessment, including the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB)’s 2024 Situational Analysis , the Dairy Council of California (DCC)’s Trends publications, and the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy’s Net Zero Initiative . Several key issues facing the industry persist, some of which have intensified over time. The following summarizes significant concerns identified by interviewees regarding the California dairy industry as of 2023:
