Bioplastics from Whey

The project is in Phase III, with utilization of the whey-derived bioplastics in packaging resins. Various

additives are being tested to evaluate the final material’s functionality. Experimentation is

taking place at the USDA Lab in Albany, CA. Dr. Charles Lee presented its results at the CDIC Innovation Conference, February 29.

Coffee, Tea & Creamers, Chapman University, January 16-17 The second Coffee, Tea & Creamers short course was held at Chapman University, with an attendance of 40

professionals. Innovation in creamers, utilization of milk in RTD beverages, new formulations and CDIC-sponsored research on preference for dairy milks were among the topics presented.
