Butter

Similar to ESL Milk, Butter capacity is limited especially for retail butter. California makes a little over 30% of the butter manufactured in the United States. Butter dollar sales are up 24% compared to the prior period and Real California Milk Butter is up nearly 29% compared to the prior period. The demand for butter in international markets continue to increase and we are exploring ways we can fill this need in 2024. In other new developments, Challenge Butter will be opening up 10M+ lbs. of butter through a new online bid system launching in September 2023. This will help alleviate any extra demand for retailers, brand marketers and foodservice, however it comes at a cost based on market pricing.
