2023 Q1 Farmer Facebook Page Report
Membership During Q1, the members of the California Dairy Farmers Facebook page experienced a 1 % overall increase in followers from 762 followers at the start of Q1 to 770 followers at the end of Q1. The page saw a total of 101 new membership requests, with 12 individuals deemed appropriate for membership on the page. Of the 86 new membership requests to the page that were declined, a total of three individuals were blocked.
Post Engagement There were 37 posts during Q1, which is much lower than the average of 66 posts quarterly over the past 18 quarters. There were 433 reactions (likes, comments, shares) during the quarter, down 18 percent from the previous quarter (530 reactions), which averages about 11.7 engagements per post. The post with the highest engagement came from Western United Dairies and was in relation to the recent California storms that have resulted in mass flooding of farms across California. This post had the highest engagement of the quarter, gaining 426 engagements, and reaching 603 users. In the comments WUD directed affected dairies to reach out to their local Farm Bureau to coordinate with county officials when evacuations were necessary.
