Industry News Danone (Whitewave Foods) announced they will divest their organic Horizon milk and Wallaby yogurt brands in the U.S. Danone owns the largest organic ESL + Aseptic production in California. This leaves a huge void in the organic dairy space for consumers. Although these brands don’t currently use the Real California Seal, we know the milk comes from the Golden State. We know organic dairy demand continues to rise year over year and we need to look for ways to meet this demand with our local milk.

PFAS Compliance PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) is a chemical that the EPA has banned in California and New York effective Jan 1, 2023. It is widely found in ink and food packaging. We sent a reminder out to the processors to check if their packaging and supply chain contains this “forever chemical” and to destroy and replace it with non-PFAS packaging as soon as possible to prevent retailers issuing a product withdrawal. Earlier this year, Kerrygold butter was pulled off the shelves at California Costcos.
