2023 March Board Book
General BD Updates: Mike and Elizabeth are working to secure our next round of roadshows with Costco’s Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego divisions. The club channel continues to have elevated importance for consumers, and roadshows are a successful vehicle for driving incremental sales during these three-day events. CMAB’s International will begin presenting our domestic results to their Costco country reps in hopes of implementing this model. CMAB will have an elevated presence at the Gourmet Foods International (GFI) Food Show taking place in Pomona, CA on 3/2. With a dedicated California Street, 14 processors along with CMAB will have booth space to meet with retailers and foodservice operators across the country. Representation from the Retail and Foodservice team will be available. Retailers are back to traveling and CMAB has received overwhelming responses from our contacts ready to travel to California to meet our cheesemakers and sample what’s new. To date, we have 5 tours on the calendar at varying levels of commitment: • Harmons specialty cheese buyer – 2/20-2/21 • Publix specialty cheese buyer and category director – 2/27-3/1 • Stop & Shop specialty cheese buyer – 3/2-3/3 • H-E-B specialty cheese buyer and recent CCP graduates – 4/10-4/13 • Whole Foods CCP students and specialty cheese buyer – First or second week of May The Disney Food & Wine Festival takes place from March 3 rd through April 25 th at Disney’s California Adventure. Marin French Cheese Co., Vintage Cheese Co., and Fiscalini will be featured this year across two different menu items in two different marketplaces (Cluck-A Doodle-Moo and Uncork California). This a high-exposure opportunity for our cheesemakers to gain brand awareness amongst festival attendees, the majority of whom are from California or directly neighboring states. CMAB signage will be present next to both marketplaces highlighting California cheese, our farmers, and our commitment to sustainability.
