• December US cheese exports hit 68 million pounds shipped. While that’s lower than in previous months, it’s still a 20% increase over the previous year. Total 2021 exports reached a record high of 892 million pounds, jumping 14% over 2020. Imports sank to 32 million pounds, 12% lower than December 2020. • Global butter demand remains healthy, with US exports jumping to 8 million pounds in December, 20% higher than the prior year. Butter imports, meanwhile, reached 11 million pounds, almost double the year before. Outbound AMF volume was also strong, totaling 3 million pounds in December, leaping 59% year-over-year. • US NDM/SMP exports declined to 127 million pounds in December, down 4% year- over-year. But full-year shipments totaled 2 billion pounds, a 10% gain over prior- year levels to a new record high.
