ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CDQAP: Environmental, Animal Care and Food Safety Outreach BACKGROUND: CDQAP has provided more than 20 years of producer-directed, university assisted outreach for producers and industry to include environmental stewardship, animal health and care, food safety and security. OBJECTIVE: Outreach for Regional Boards 1 and 2. Develop outreach related to changes in RB-5’s Monitoring and Reporting Program, Dairy General Order and state CV-SALTS. Leverage outreach on CDFA’s Alternative Manure Management Project (AMMP) funding program. Environmental certification and fee reductions to continue. Support CDFA FMD response and mortality response outreach. Partner with CMAB, FBI and local sheriff's offices for farm security outreach. INDUSTRY BENEFIT: Free, universal access to the most current science-based management practices and compliance assistance, specific to California industry needs. Positive public messaging.
