ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CDQAP: Environmental, Animal Care and Food Safety Outreach BACKGROUND: CDQAP has provided more than 20 years of producer-directed, university assisted outreach for producers and industry to include environmental stewardship, animal health and care, food safety and security. OBJECTIVES: Continued outreach for Regional Boards 1& 2. Developing outreach related to changes in RB-5’s MRP, DGO and state CV-SALTS. Leveraged outreach on Alternative Manure Management. Environmental certification and fee reductions continue. Collaboratively developing FMD response, mortality management. Partnering with CMAB, FBI and local sheriff's offices for farm security. INDUSTRY BENEFIT: Free, universal access to the most current science-based management practices and compliance assistance, specific to California industry needs. Positive public messaging.
