2018 May Board Book
Harris Teeter Harris Teeter has over 240 stores in 7 states and does more cheese volume than most chains “three to four times" their size. They are a premium retailer who does not currently carry any California cheese. Leo Beggin, VP Perishables, agreed to a CMAB proposed “table top” presentation for our cheese processors Tuesday, May 1 in Charlotte, NC. Nine California processors will arrive the day before to set up their tables/presentation the morning of May 1. Leo will come to the hotel that afternoon and go to everyone’s table to sample and discuss their products.
This is a big win for CMAB as Leo usually doesn’t do this kind of presentation, but he liked the idea of getting to see all California Processors in the same day!
Costco California Grown Promotion In partnership with the “California Grown” promotional organization and the Northern California Costco division, CMAB participated in a recent “California” promotion with demo sampling. This partnership has proven to be quite beneficial in promoting dairy along with the produce associations that make up the bulk of “California Grown”. As you can see from the picture on the right below, Rumiano benefited from significant incremental bunker displays.
Sprouts Mike Levy and Katelyn Harmon met with the Sprouts dairy and deli teams as well as their marketing department in April to discuss promotion of significant new volume of California cheese being supplied by Joseph Farms. The meeting was a success and the partnership of Mike’s decades of sales experience and Katelyn’s retail marketing and digital background prompted many new promotional ideas that will be exciting to test and grow in the balance of 2018.
